update - lots of changes

  • well, we're back from vacation and back to work. we had an awesome time seeing savannah, charleston, and lots of other places on our way home. (we stretched the 12 hour drive home into a 3 day trip, only driving a couple hours at a time, exploring things along the way.) even though the main point of the trip was savannah and we had a great time there, i think we both enjoyed the relaxing drive home the most!! i will post more probably tonight about our vacation once i have the 4 rolls of film developed. (i dropped them off at the walmart 1 hour photo this morning so i can pick them up at lunch. i'm soooo excited to see how they turned out.)
  • anyhow, we got back last night. "brad's" brown jeep was parked in our yard. broken down. very interesting....huh? maybe he's returning it...
  • another exciting piece of information -- my sister, emily, has been going to school to be a dental assistant for the past couple months. she graduates mar 31. her plan after that is to work as a dental assistant while going to school to become a dentist. several people including me and david, mom and dad, her guy friend shep, her current instructor, and our hometown dentist are encouraging her to go for it. she doesn't want to go to any of the schools in ohio with dental programs, but iupui here in indy offers the program. so...she told me she is moving out here to indy eventually. dave and i talked about it and decided to tell her she could move in with us if she wanted at least until the house sells so she can decide if this is REALLY where she wants to be and that's REALLY what she wants to do before signing a year apt. lease or something. we talked to her about it last night. we told her that there would be certain rules. dave will be, as he is now, the head of the household. we will follow his rules. that means she won't be able to have alcohol in the house. (i wasn't sure how the newly 21 year old would react to that but she said ok...) she agreed to pay us about $300 / mo to live here. so, yeah. this will be a little different. but cool. we will have stinky (her dog) living with us 24/7. YES! another plus - emily is one of the cleanest, most organized people i know. and i'm, well, NOT. so she has decided to take our mess of a house on as her next organizing project. since she will be in school, she may have days where she's not as busy, so she said she could do the laundry and clean and stuff. not only would i get to spend lots of time with my sister, but she would do all the housework. yes!!! :) i'm sooo excited. it will be a little weird for me and dave. no more running around the house naked (not that we do that anyways) but she will probably work or take classes in the evenings, and we're usually never there, and we're all doing stuff on the weekends so it may not be that much of a change. another cool thing - she wants to go on weight watchers, so we would have a built-in support group in our home.
  • Gotta go, I'll post pics and text about the vacation later. Love, Katie
