just got back from a L-O-N-G trip to des moines. just left yesterday morning but that's hard to believe. got to the indy airport at 4:30 monday morning, flew to cincy. met up with kassie from our knoxville office and went on to des moines. spent monday afternoon with our client touring the project site. had dinner at the machine shed {www.machineshed.com}, which just so happened to be RIGHT NEXT to our hotel. it was very good and kassie & i both say THANK YOU to my lovely mother-in-law for the recommendation. it was EXACTLY what we needed last night after such a long day. after that we were so full, so we went to the valley west mall and shopped to get some exercise and work off the food. turns out they still have maurices in des moines. it's been years since either one of us had been to maurices so we were so excited! i found lots of things i wanted to buy but fought off the temptation for now. still trying to get down another size before i invest too much in my wardrobe. but i have to admit i'm a lot more excited about shopping these days since i can actually find cool clothes to fit me...yes!
anyways, so today we worked in the client's office, had a conference call and then went back out to the project site. i ended up getting extremely carsick as i was videotaping and writing on a map as we drove around. that didn't help how i felt on the airplanes this afternoon/evening either. ugh. i'm so very glad to be back home and not floating in the air anymore. one plus to the trip was we were flying back into indy about 8:30 this evening and i got to see a beautiful sunset from the plane. and some really cool clouds. wanted to take a pic but wasn't sure that would be ok with delta airlines. hmmmmmm. i don't know...
anyways, that's about it for now. sometime later this week i will upload cool pics from all my recent business trips but for now i better just unpack, catch up on the stack of bills waiting for me, and go to bed. i love MY bed. :)
