Well, we got back late last night from visiting Dave's sister, Jenny, and her family in Nampa, ID. We had an incredible time and we were really sad to leave them. We got to see lots of beautiful landscapes, totally different from anything I'd ever seen before.
Sunday we went to their friends' vacation home in Garden Valley. We swam in their pool heated with a hot spring and then rode four-wheelers thru the wooded mountains taking some breathtaking photographs.
Monday we drove to Baker City, OR to see the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center. I was rather impressed with this. I love history cuz of my dad...
Tuesday and Wednesday we basically spent at the house. We had lunch with Linn one day at HP, where he works. We also ran a couple errands. David decided after those days that he would like to be a stay at home mom like Jenny...but I think he had a slanted view of what that would really be like...and I'm not about to let him stay home with the kids and make me work ;) "That's ridiculous to my thinking," as Kenneth Copeland would say...
Thursday we had lunch in a quaint little diner in Mountain Home, ID on our way to Bruneau Dunes and Canyon. ...We were all so proud of ourselves for climbing the tall dune. 2 year old Mandy even made it almost all the way to the top by herself.
We ate lots and lots of wonderful food too. By the end of the week Dave was nearly refusing to eat cuz he felt he'd been overdoing it for too long. We found out that Jenny makes her own bread and rolls. All of it was delicious and we were very impressed. We also enjoyed having strawberry jam on almost everything and she told us that it's not that hard to make so we can now make our own. She and David made a peanut butter pie our last night together. It was awesome and we have the recipe now. Can't wait to make it for some of our friends here.
Anyhow, it was a very fun and relaxing trip. I felt we got to know Jenny & Linn both a lot better and really bonded *sniffle* Every night after the kids went to bed we played games - dominoes, card games and "Loaded Questions". We had a lot of fun. I finally "won" a game the last night when I played Eucher on a team with Dave and we cheated a bit cuz I didn't really know how to play. Other than that, I lost all the other games.
I loved getting to play with Emmy & Mandy and hold baby Tyler. I got a kick out of some of the things that Mandy would say. She was adorable. And I took a couple videos of the girls dancing to music at some of the places we went. They were so happy and fun to be with.
Well, that's pretty much it for now. Check out all our Idaho Vacation pics HERE.
I better get going now. Catching up on laundry & cleaning this afternoon. It's back to work tomorrow and then I'm going on another biz trip to Knoxville, TN this week. Leaving Tues night. Heading from there to Ohio Friday night to help my mom prepare for her garage sale. It will most likely be Sept 22-23, if anyone's interested. See ya!
