One crazy, busy update...

So much to do and so little time........that's how I've felt this week. Since it's getting dark so early these days we pretty much feel like going to bed before we get home from work. That leaves little time and energy for working out, bible studies, paying bills, laundry, dishes, cleaning, scrapbooking my album for Grandma's Christmas present, wrapping gifts, actually writing in and mailing the 100+ cards I've decided to send...and it doesn't help when I waste valuable lunch break time coming home to get my coat that I somehow FORGOT Wed. morning. :) (Am I a moron or what?) I don't know. It is just so weird. I was TOTALLY in the Christmas spirit at Thanksgiving and now I'm just....sort of not. Just stressed. I'm hoping I can get back in the mood soon before the Christmas marathon truly begins for us.

Anyways, I joined SWE (Society of Women Engineers) this past week. I had lunch today with some SWE ladies. One of which was an 80 year old lady who went to Purdue in 1945 and studied aerospace engineering. She was rather fascinating and reminded me oh-so-much of David's Granny.

This evening I went to an event in Broad Ripple - painting pottery, with SWE ladies as well. It was really fun! I also realized that a girl I went to school with at Purdue is in it - she was in my Hydrology class the last semester I was there. Her boyfriend, who is in the Navy and now stationed in San Diego was in my senior design group. So, yeah, it was kinda neat to get re-acquainted with her tonight. And I'll probably see her again next Monday night at yet another SWE event. (.........I'm glad that I joined but a little surprised at how many events they have.........I will definitely have to find a balance with this....)

Tomorrow night is the office Christmas party. Yay! Looking forward to it. Gotta go wrap the presents. I also recently got back in touch with my old mentee from Purdue. She is graduating this month and searching for a job. I said something to my boss. He asked to see her resume. I'm hoping something works out. I really, really want to help her. I totally know how stressed she must be feeling right now. I was pretty much in the same boat when I was graduating...

And oh yeah, I got a new office this week with a window. Absolutely THRILLED about that. Actually decorating it now cuz I feel so settled in it.
