random tidbits

  • worked from 3:30 a.m.- 9:15 p.m. today
  • drove about 300 miles or so.
  • dressed up as a papa john's delivery person for halloween at the engineering office. some people there knew why. some didn't. that was funny...
  • {julia, if you're reading this, you're going to be SO shocked....}... i turned in my 2 week notice at my day job on monday. i'm going to go to another company where i can work on road projects only and work with a bunch of other people who know how to do road projects. i was really worried how my boss and manager would react. i prayed and prayed and prayed aboutit over the weekend. but i had very good talks with both of them monday and tuesday and all is well. i could SO tell that God's hand was in both conversations. praise the Lord!
  • what is really hard is that there are so many things i like about working there that it is really hard to leave. the people, the free food in the kitchen, the location, the atmosphere, etc., etc. but i think that long term, since i really like transportation a lot more than water, that the decision i made is a good one for me. i'm just so very happy that i'm leaving on such good terms.
  • anyways, i have lots more i could say but i'm exhausted and must go to bed. gotta go deliver papers in about 3.5 hours.
  • i have been listening to christmas music on the radio. 93.1 has the 93 days of christmas. our friends who we had the garage sale with saturday got me started on it. i hope i don't ruin christmas for myself!
  • and oh yeah, by the way, the garage sale was awesome from our perspective. we made $142!! yay! so, after that and all my tip money, and all the other blessing God is pouring on us, we are down to about $9,700 of debt left. and we plan on paying that off before december if we can sell a couple more things, etc., etc. i'm just SOOOO excited. we will soon have our debts paid off. we could not possibly have done all this without God providing for us so incredibly. he has given us strength, wisdom and well, money. :)

I wondered how things went. I'm so thankful you are leaving on good terms. I have been praying about it for you. What fun being a Papa john's delivery person for Halloween! Maybe next year, I'll dress up as a grandma. thanks for the update.

I'm glad the garage sale went well. Did you sell all of the baked goods? All this talk about pumpkin cheesecake got me in the moood to try a new receipe for the tea room, miniature pumpkin cheesecakes. Congratulations on your new job Katie! Mom has been keeping me posted on the details. I'll be praying for a smooth transition. Love you both!
Love,
Margy
