Dave's "Management Buck"

Dave went hunting with our friend Shawn today here in Boone County. They were only out there about 30 minutes when he got this large (large body...took 3 grown men to drag him out of a waterway), 6 point asymmetrical buck. He's not the most beautiful thing we've seen...but since it's his first deer, he wasn't going to be picky. Furthermore, he was doing all the other hunters a favor so this deer with poor genes can't reproduce (that's why it's called a "Management Buck"). Anyways, we are going to have lots and lots of meat. Glad we got our freezer last weekend!!

Gun season officially opened in Indiana today at 6:54 a.m. and Dave shot this at 7:09 a.m., 15 minutes into season! Yay! I'm so proud of him.

In an hour and a half they saw 2 coyotes and 4 bucks (2 of them were VERY NICE). No does. He will hopefully get a doe on Monday. (He's taking off work and heading over to Parke County for another hunting adventure.)

By the way, isn't my David handsome???

I see why its called a "management buck" but a deer is a deer. Congratulations and yes, your David is handsome.
