thanks for all the wonderful comments jenny and margaret =) glad you're reading all this rambling of mine...
this morning i called pat detwiler and told her that we weren't coming to look at the house this weekend afterall. i told her we just decided that it wouldn't be the best idea to take on a second house payment. she understood and thought that was wise. she said after tom saw shan this past week and they talked, he was about to call us and tell us they would hold off on selling to anyone else until our house sold so we could have the house, because (and these are HER words) they would like to sell it to us more than anyone else... but i told her we just really didn't know how long it would be till our house sells here and we wouldn't want to do that to them....i told her that we do have construction equipment and sewer pipes across the road so it shouldn't be too much longer... i said if our house here sells sometime in the next few months we will call to see if they've sold their house yet and if not, we'll make an offer. in the end, we basically agreed to just keep in touch about the whole situation. they were going to show the house to someone else today. if someone else does end up making an offer then they will let us know before it's a done deal so if we want to go ahead at that point and get another mortgage then we can...so...in a sense, we're kind of like first rights buyers, on a verbal basis. so, i think that's pretty neat.... i always did like tom and pat =)
last night i did 4 loads of laundry and put 4 months of bank transactions into microsoft money so i can better track our spending. today i shined my sink. shan, you would be proud of me!! i followed the whole fly lady thing. i've been pretty productive so far this weekend, but still want to clean the bathrooms, sweep and mop, and wash the bedding before monday. i also worked on filing papers today and thought about throwing some paperwork away...not sure yet what to get rid though. that would make less to move. i also decided to start packing up our china, maybe tonight or tomorrow, as we don't really need it to be out and then it will be packed up and done, whether we move this summer or next spring...it would be fun to see things start to get boxed up. i think. maybe...?
i just spent 2 hours out in the freezing cold helping david put a clutch and brake pedal into the green jeep (a.k.a. brutus)...this doesn't sound that bad, but it's not really made to have a clutch. it's a 1994 grand cherokee. the only grand cherokees that ever had manual transmissions were the '93s, you see. so, it was an adventure. he's going to buy an engine from a junkyard and put into brutus so that we can sell starla (the '96 gr. cherokee that we have a loan for...so that will eliminate a car pmt...and full coverage car insurance...) i'm glad to be back in the warm house...oh no, i just went to the door to see if he wanted me to warm up some chili and fix cornbread and he asked me if i could put my shoes back on and come back out there......so i pretended not to hear him and came back to the computer....i'm not getting sucked back out there...
