well, it's been a while since i've posted. a lot has been going on. life is speeding by at such an incredible pace. i've got a few pics to post too but not enough time right now. so they will have to wait.
we went to ohio last weekend. i got there friday night. dave was dropped off by team 4 on the way home from cedar point sat night. i had fun working with my mom getting ready for her garage sale all day sat. went to oak grove sunday. they had a potluck. then surena came to mom's for the sneak preview garage sale. then we went to see the house up the road that's for sale. it needs quite a bit of updating but i could see myself living there. i don't think dave can. anyhow, also stirred up a couple dramatic family fights. i feel really bad about it now but also a bit relieved for being honest. just think i could have kept my cool better in both situations if i hadn't been so exhausted at the time.
we had lee's at the reservoir with phil, shan & jessie sunday evening. then we drove back home together. never turned on the radio we were so engrossed in conversation (hadn't really seen each other since tues so...) anyways, dave had a great idea on our way back. we want to flip a house in indy. maybe in broad ripple. we keep watching those property ladder shows whenever we can at other people's houses...heheheh...and we're getting all excited about it. but the people on the show always have trouble estimating how much it will cost to do improvements and then they end up not having enough $$ to do all the work. we figure that we might have the same problem since we really have no idea how much it costs to do anything to a house. sooo.....dave suggested that we pretend that we're going to do all the improvements to our current house that we had thought of doing when we bought it 3+ years ago. we will research things, go to lowes, home depot, whatever and get prices. that way we at least have a guess about how much things cost these days before we go out and get a mortgage for a house to flip. then we will know how much extra to get to do improvements if we need to. i'm so excited about this! i see our house in a whole new light now. i see potential! meanwhile, they've leveled 2 more homes on the north side of the road. and they started anson building 1 yesterday. it's enormous!!!
i went to a purdue career fair for the school of civil engineering this week. saw my old mentee, camille. she graduates in december?!?!? i'm so excited for her. we made plans to hook up again sometime. she's looking for a job in indy so hopefully she'll still be around here. she loved my highlighted hair and new skinnier body. (i was so glad she noticed!!) i also saw a lot of other people. it was neat to go back and realize what i'm a part of at purdue. that i don't need to put up with junk. and 3 consulting firms were there "fighting" over me. that's gotta boost anyone's self confidence, huh?
tuesday will be my last day of work. i had a great talk today and really got some closure on some of the issues there. really looking forward to starting the new job. talked to them at the job fair. they're already getting my OFFICE ready. yes!!! i think it will be such a breath of fresh air.
anyhow, i only worked till noon today cuz i had my hours in. i ran to hobby lobby & meijer. got pulled over for speeding on the way home. but i'm so blessed cuz as the carmel policman was getting ready to write my ticket, he got called to another scene. he promptly brought back my license and registration and asked me to just slow down for him. woohoo! praise the Lord! i have been speeding lately and knew i shouldn't. God put that guy there but i didn't get in real trouble. just got humbled. i slowed down after that...........now i'm at home cleaning. gotta keep moving so that i'll be ready for our "date" tonight. going to AJ's. haven't been there in ages....See ya!
